Tri-C Women's Track and Field Opens the Season at Comets Opener

The Tri-C Women's Track team opened their season on Saturday by traveling to Capital University to participate in their first competition in over two years.

The Tops competed well and look forward to building on their success this past weekend.  Here are the highlights of the meet:

• Dayvionne Briggs finished 7th int he 60M dash with a time of 8.22, also finished 5th in the 200 with a 27.87, and 2nd in the Triple Jump with a leap of 9.95 M
• Shamable Crawford finished 6th in the 400M with a time of 108.48
• Ashleigh Duffy led the distance runners by taking 20th in the mile with a time of 6:40.16
• The relay team of Abby Makara, Shamable Crawford, Jillian Carrick and Dayvionne Briggs took 2nd in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:56.51
• In the throws, Madison Stepanik took 12th in the Shotput with a throw of 9.93 M, while Alex Feckner took 10th in the weight throw at 9.27 M

The women will compete at Spire this weekend.
