Softball Sweeps Games In Galveston Tourney

GALVESTON - For the second straight year the Tyler Junior College softball team swept five games in the Galveston College Invitation.

After winning two games on Friday, the Apache Ladies scored victories on Saturday over Wallace State-Hanceville (Alabama), 4-0; No. 9 San Jacinto-South, 7-3; and Alvin, 12-4 in five innings.

On Friday, TJC defeated Blinn (11-2) and LSU-Eunice (13-7).

The Apache Ladies are not ranked in the NJCAA preseason poll. The first regular season poll is scheduled for March 7.The Apache Ladies return to play on Tuesday, traveling to Marshall to meet the East Texas Baptist JV in a doubleheader. The first game is set for a 3 p.m. start.
