Men's Lacrosse Storms Past Potomac State

KEYSER, WV – The Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team stormed past host Potomac State, 23-3, in Region XX action Wednesday. John Thibodeau led all scorers with seven goals and three assists.

Trevor Collier added six goals and three assists, while Sam Weisshaar was the top playmaker with a career-high eight assists to go with five goals. Francis O'Hara added three goals and an assist.

AACC led, 7-2, after the first quarter, and broadened the lead to 12-3 headed into the brea. The Riverhawks held the Catamounts scoreless in the second half, limiting them to just three shots on goal through the final 30 minutes.

AACC won 20 of 30 faceoffs in the game, seeing Mark Kelm go 12-for-18 and Bobby Ruel finish 8-for 12.

Conner Westervelt made one save while allowing two goals in the first quarter. Griffin Tucker saved four of five shots in the second and third quarters, and Kolby hood stopped the lone shot faced in the fourth.

AACC recorded 55 groundballs in the game, led by eight from Kelm, six from Weisshaar, and five from pole Alan Usher.

AACC hosts College of Southern Maryland Sunday at noon.
