The Jayhawk Women's Soccer team continued their improved play with a 3-0 victory over Marion University's Ancilla College Chargers.
MCC got on the board quick when Marisa Strandberg (Whitehall) scored off a throw in from Lydia Sowles (Mona Shores). Sowles was all over the scoreboard as she scored the next 2 goals with assists from Lainey Canan (Zeeland East) and McKenna Gentry (Muskegon Catholic Central). The Jayhawks also got strong performances from Sam Van Dort (Zeeland West) and Emma Peterson (Montague) who took on new positions as well as Julie Hernandez (Fremont) on the defensive line.
MCC is now 4-7-1 in conference play and 6-7-1 overall. They will play a home contest on Saturday, 10/7 when they host Terra State Community College at 1:00 pm.
