
April 26, 2025 - The Kishwaukee College baseball team hosted Kennedy-King College on Saturday. Kish also celebrated Sophomore Day by sweeping the Statesmen 5-1 and 10-0. In game one, the Kougars got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Sawyer Larson tripled to center field, and Lenox Estremera laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run. (PJ) Patrick Jasinski started the game for the Kougs for the complete game win as he gave up just one hit and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking six. Jackson Young had two runs batted in and went 2-for-3. Teammates Daelen Figueroa, Brock Metzger, Sam Genslinger, Will Baumgartner and Sawyer Larson (triple) each had hits for Kish while Aiden Rodriguez had a hit and run scored.
Game two, saw Kishwaukee run rule Kennedy-King in six innings. Kish got on the board in the third inning after Will Baumgartner singled, scoring two runs. Maddox Gerwig began the game for Kish and the right-hander gave up four hits and zero runs over his complete game six innings, striking out six and walking one. Baumgartner (3 RBI) and Young each collected two hits for the Kougars. The Kougs walked it off in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single by Jaylen Edwards after an RBI single by Alec Rosa. Rodriguez had 2 runs scored while Figueroa, Baumgartner, Young, Larson and Dalton Rutherford had a run scored each. Genslinger contributed an RBI. Kishwaukee (14-32 overall, 8-12 Arrowhead Conference -T 4th place) will host Oakton CC on Monday, April 28 with first pitch at 2:00 pm
