Tri-C Softball Loses 2 on Sunday
The Tri-C Softball Team suffered a sweep Sunday at home against Edison State.
Game 1 L 13-3
The Tops jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first on Kelsey Murphy's three run homer but that was it for the offense as they struggled to put anything together and 4 error in the field did not help out any. Reis Johnson was the only Top with multiple hits and 5 unearned runs proved to be too much to overcome.
Game 2 L 12-5
Once again the Tops jumped out to a lead, winning 5-1 after 4 innings but again the wheels seemed to come off as the defense allowed 5 more unearned runs in the game. At the plate, Maddie Brockman and Nicole Goode both had multiple hits and Abby Gaynor cranked a homerun but it was not enough.
The Tops enter the final week of the regular season at 16-13 overall and 12-6 in OCCAC play still in second place with 6 games to play (2 each against Clark St., Hocking and Lakeland).
