Lady Wolves Falter on The Road Against Holmes

RIDGELAND – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team continued their season-opening road trip on Tuesday, September 7 with a contest against Holmes Community College. The Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Wolves by a final of 5-1.

The Lady Bulldogs got on the board early as Ravynne Wilson found the back of the net in the 13th minute with an assist from Callie McKinney to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Wolves tied the game late in the first half as sophomore midfielder Anacia Leyland (St. Helens, England) scored in the 43rd minute and the game remained tied 1-1 at halftime.

The second half of the match belonged to the Lady Bulldogs as Kaci Craft scored two of the four goals in the 54th and 84th minutes with assists from Sydney Nester and Abbi Russell respectively. Ravynne Wilson picked up an assist during the second half on a goal by Abbi Russell in the 78th minute and then Wilson picked up her second goal of the match with an assist from K'lee Pittman in the same minute as the Lady Bulldogs sealed the 5-1 win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alexandra Moon (Poynton with Worth, England) faced 16 shots on goal making 12 saves throughout the match for the Lady Wolves.

The Lady Wolves are now 0-2 overall on the season and will be on the road facing off against Southwest Community College on Friday, September 10. The action on the pitch will kickoff at 2 p.m.
