Hagerstown Volleyball (2-0) traveled to Cecil College on Tuesday, August 29th, getting their second MDJUCO conference and Region 20 wins of the season against the Seahawks. Off to a steady start, the Hawks finished the first set 25-12, however team energy really picked up during the second set. Kayla Turner (14) with 8 kills and Kylie Snyder (6) with 7 kills took control of the offense, with Delaney Long (7) right behind adding 6 kills. Kylie Hahn (2) finished the match with 25 assists, and was a huge part of carrying the team energy to win the second set 25-20.
Defensively, Hagerstown actively kept the ball off the floor, keeping it possible to make plays and put the ball down. "Communication during rallys is something we are struggling with," commented Coach Sierra Hill, "but I'd rather have that struggle than no struggle at all." Everly Harsh (12) finished the night with 15 digs and just 3 errors, to hold down the defensive line. The Hawks came out on top in the third set 25-13 and closed out the match to win in three sets (3-0).
Hagerstown leaves for Perrysburg, OH on Thursday, August 31st to play St. Clair Community College and Vincennes University on Friday, September 1st, and Muskegon Community College and Lorain County Community College on Saturday, September 2nd.
