Both teams started out cold with the first points of the game being scored at 18:35 on the 6th possession of the game on a layup by the Hawks. The Hawks biggest lead of the night came when they were up 7-3 early on. After the slow start the action heated up and the fast paced game was under way as 8 points were scored in 28 seconds with the last being a three from Amear Johnson to give the Lions 12-11 lead with just under 14 minutes left to play. Johnson had 7 of the Lions 12 points. The Hawks make two free throws and take the lead back 13-12. Murray Grant would then score 5 points in 7 seconds and start the Lions on what would be a 10 point run to give them a 21-13 points lead with a little under nine and a half minutes in the first half. The Hawks would go on a little 6-0 run of their own to cut the lead to three, 22-19. The Lions would answer with an 8-0 run of their own to extend their lead to 11, 30-19 with under 5 in the first half. The first half ends with a score of 37-29 Lions lead. The Hawks finished the half 8-8 from the line.

The Lions opened up the second half scoring the first two baskets extending their lead to twelve 41-29 but the Hawks answered with a 9-0 run and cut the lead to 3, 41-38. The Lions would respond with a 10-3 run to extend their lead back to double digits 51-41. The Hawks were not giving up, scoring 6 straight, 4 off free throws. The Lions made a layup to end the run and then called a timeout, Lions lead 54-47 with 11:39 left. The Hawks made two free throws to put the score at 57-54 and call a timeout with 9 minutes left to play. Making their free throws kept the Hawks in the game as they were 19-20 from the line at this point. The timeout proved to be fruitful for the Lions as they went on a 13-2 run giving them a 14 point lead, 70-56 with 3:14 left to go. At 2:57 the Hawks went to the line and surprisingly missed one of the free throws. After being so good at the line the hawks would finish 4 for 9 with under 3 minutes left to play. The Hawks might have slowed down at the free throw line but outscored the Lions 13-4 in the closing minutes forcing turnovers and never quitting but the Lions prevailed 74-69.

The Lions will not play at home again until 2022. But will be on the road against Harford Community College on Saturday, December 11th @4:00pm.
