Reiver Men Finish Fall Season in St. Joe

The IWCC men's golf team competed in the Holiday Inn Express Classic hosted by Missouri Western on October 10th and 11th. The 54-hole event was contested at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, MO. After a solid day one, the Reivers fell down the leaderboard on day two. Eventually placing 6th in the 10-team event.

Freshman Matt Dennis got off to a strong start and set the pace overall for The Reivers. On day one, his 2-round total of 141 (-1) put him in a tie for 2nd place individually. A final round 78 (+7) was good enough to finish inside the top 10.

The Reivers opened with a 296 (+12) in Mondays morning round and followed it up with a very good afternoon round of 284 (E). Tuesday's final round was played in very windy conditions and The Reivers struggled to a 310 (+26).

"We started all of our rounds on the hardest part of the golf course. I was very pleased with how we responded on Monday to a slow start." Assistant Coach Derrick Ceder said. "Tuesday had difficult conditions and we just couldn't overcome a bad start on the difficult part of the golf course. It wasn't exactly how we wanted to finish our fall season but, hopefully this will provide some motivation to sharpen our games throughout the offseason."
