
IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Ellsworth picked up 4 victories, but lost its first conference dual meet of the season Wednesday night, falling to Iowa Central CC, 31-16, at Dittmer Gym.
The Panthers posted 3 consecutive wins in one stretch and finished the night by winning a narrow decision at 285 pounds.
The first victory for ECC came from Diego Isiordia at 157 pounds. A national qualifier for Ellsworth last year, Isiordia defeated Nathan Napolitano, 12-5.
ECC's Mirzo Khayitov then pinned Malikhy Ray in 2:32 at 165.
Juan Isiordia followed up that fall with a 10-1 decision for ECC at 174, beating Aiden Carr.
The final Ellsworth win came from Tegan Carson, who used two first-period takedowns to decision Colten Goodell, 5-3 at 285 pounds.
The Panthers forfeited at 133 and 149 and Iowa Central had a fall and 3 major decisions.
Ellsworth competes in the Grand View Open this Saturday.
