Jayhawks Get Two All-Americans On Day One Of Nationals

Fort Pierce, Fla. - Starting out the 2022 NJCAA Swimming & Diving National Championships with a splash, the Jamestown Community College women's team had a pair of swimmers earn All-American status with another earning Honorable Mention All-American.

 

Kaylee Constantino (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) set a new school record in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 32.26. The time was good for eight place in the event to be named All-American.

 

Tia Moppert (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda HS) set a new personal best in the 200 yard IM, finishing with a time of 2:27.69. Moppert's time placed sixth in the event to become an All-American. Jade Vidas (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Parktown HS for Girls) also competed in the 200 yard IM, finishing with a time of 2:39.36 and earn Honorable Mention All-American.

 

Lindsay Finch (Russel, PA/Eisenhower HS) had a solid day in the pool, setting a new school record in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:36.89. Finch shaved nearly 20 seconds of her previous best which was the school record.

 

Emily Lyon (Panama, NY/Panama Central) and Kylee Hennessy (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS) also set new personal bests in the 50 yard breaststroke.

 

The team of Vidas, Lyon, Finch, and Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) placed seventh in the 800 yard freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 9:27.80.

 

As a team, the Jayhawks are in fifth place with 57 points, 16 points ahead of Region 3 foe Genesee Community College.

 

JCC will be back in action tomorrow morning for Session 3 starting at 9:30 a.m.
