Two Run-Rule Victories For Pirates Baseball

Pirates Baseball earned a pair of resounding wins on Wednesday over visiting Central Methodist University JV 14-1 and 12-0.  The Pirates record is now 12-30 before a weekend showdown with St. Louis Community College.  The Archers are 13-20 coming into the matchup.

In game one, the Pirates got a solid start from freshman pitcher Clayton Bailey.  He allowed one run over four innings pitched while striking out three.  Offensively, the Pirates got contributions up and down the lineup.  Capping a ten-run fourth inning was a grand slam from sophomore Aiden Flowers.  It was his first career home run for the Pirates.

In the second game it was much of the same.  Pitchers Braedyn Brewer, Pharon Pilgrim, and Peyton Seiz combined to shutout the Eagles.  With the bats, consistent performer Kendrick Delima led the charge.  He knocked his tenth home run of the year, tying him for the NCMC single-season record.  Nathaniel Bentura added a homer as did Logan Eickhoff who finished the game 3-4 with three runs and three RBIs.
