ECC Beaten by Air Force Prep

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- Ellsworth fell behind 14-0 at halftime and despite outscoring Air Force Prep, 17-16, over the final two quarters, the Panthers fell 30-17 on Saturday.

Josh Bauer helped get the Panthers on the scoreboard in the 3rd period, after they were held scoreless in the first half, with a 25-yard scoring pass to Aghogho Eyafe.  Bauer tossed another scoring pass in the final quarter -- a 44-yarder to Malcolm Gillie.  In between the TD throws, Andrew Walter booted a 24-yard field goal to finish off an ECC drive.  Walter's kick came early in the 4th quarter.

Bauer was 16-of-34 through the air for 265 yards.  He had two receivers with just under 100 yards -- Gillie gained 97 yards on three catches and Tate Lahr had 94 yards, also on three receptions.  One of the completions to Lahr went for 46 yards.  Eyafe also caught three balls for 48 yards and Marice Whitlock snared two for 24.  Whitlock led an ECC ground attack that failed to gain much traction, totaling only 57 yards on the day.  Whitlock ran eight times for 25 yards and Bauer rushed 12 times for 22 yards.

The Panthers return to action on Oct. 23 when they host Iowa Western at Cadet Field.
