Lakers Suffer Road Loss to Erie

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The Lakers men's basketball team struggled on the road Monday night in a matchup agains the Erie Community College Kats. The Kats took a 19 point advantage into the halftime break and road that advantage to a 92-52 victory in favor of Erie.

Freshman Michael Morgan (Rochester, N.Y./ Edison Tech) shined in the matchup, scoring 14 point off the bench in only 17 minutes played. Morgan pulled in 3 rebounds, dished out an assist, grabbed 2 steals and blocked a shot in an impressive performance. Teammate Pacey Hopkins (Avoca, N.Y./ Avoca) followed Morgan in the scoring column with 11 points on 4-7 shooting. Hopkins knocked down three 3-pointers against the Kats to go along with 2 defensive rebounds. 

Freshman sharpshooter Alex Hill (Rochester, N.Y./ Fairport) shot an efficient 2-3 from the 3-poin t line to finish with 6 points. Hill pulled down 2 rebounds and grabbed a steal to round out his night on the stat sheet. Sophomore Jevonte Williams (Rochester, N.Y./ Rush Henrietta) earned the start, finishing with 4 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal against the Kats. 

Other contributors for the Lakers was Danny Amador (Naples, F.L./ Palmetto Ridge) with 2 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 2 steals, Frankie Oropeza (Rochester, N.Y./ Greece Athena) with a 3-pointer, 2 rebounds and an assist, and Arona Mane (Bronx, N.Y./ William Grady) who finished the night with 2 points and 5 rebounds.

The Lakers will hit the road for a matchup in Dryden, N.Y. against the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers at 7 PM tomorrow, December 7th.
