Seven Players in Double Figures as Golden Rams Win Big

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team used a balanced offensive effort, combined with a stifling defense to defeat Western Tech 121-64 on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Rams quickly built a double-digit lead, 24-13 with 14 minutes left in the first half with all five starters scoring.

A field goal by Zane Lind at the ten minute mark gave the Golden Rams their first 20 point lead which they continued to build into a 63-27 lead at the break.

Anoka-Ramsey lead 92-48 with ten minutes left in the game and hit the century mark with six minutes remaining with a 101-60 lead.

The Golden Rams shot 58.3 percent overall and connected on 12 of 34 three-point attempts.  

Anoka-Ramsey also had season highs in rebounds (61) and assists (27).

Western Tech shot just 25 of 84 from the field (29.8 percent).

Edvonte Copeland scored 22 points, followed by 20 from Kevin Schramm.

Mamadou Ngom scored 17 points and pulled in nine rebounds.

Mahad Haji scored 15 points, making three from beyond the arc.

Lind and Chris Morgan each tallied 13 points.

Harley Shear finished with 11 points on 5 of 8 shooting to go with nine rebounds.

The Golden Rams improve to 13-1 on the season, 1-0 in MCAC Southern Division, and will host Riverland Community College on Saturday, January 14 at 1:00pm.
