Roselle, NJ - Sophomore defender Dayna Van Pelt finished a corner kick in the first minute of play from freshman midfielder Allison Fitch to put the Blues on the board early. Brookdale grounded the Fighting Owls of Union County College in conference action, 5-0.
Freshman forward Jada Trotta recorded a hat-trick while Van Pelt headed in her second goal of the game in the final minutes off a free kick from sophomore midfielder Emma Kuper. Kuper tallied two assists in the match-up. Sophomore forward Jenna Karabin also dished two assists. Freshmen goalkeepers Rebeckah Trumble and Noelle Gibbons combined for nine saves.
Brookdale played a great defensive and offensive game, maintained possession, and won 50/50 balls throughout the ninety minutes of play.
With the win, the team improves to 7-0-1 and will next face the Roadrunners of Rowan College South Jersey - Gloucester on Saturday, October 12th at 1pm at Sycamore Recreation Complex in Tinton Falls.
