Basketball kicks off season opener with win over Finger Lakes, 93-77

Canandaigua, NY.- MCC men's basketball team stepped on the court for the first time lastnight since Spring of 2020. The men didn't look like they missed a beat when they finished with a 93-77 victory keeping a steady lead throughout the game. With their first win of the season, the Tribunes advance to 1-0 to start out the 2021-22 season.

Game Highlights:

Ishmael Smith (Lanham, MD) had the most points for MCC finishing with 18. Dyree Rogers (Long ISland, NY) finished closely behind him with 17.

The top rebounders for Monroe was Smith with eight, Rogers with six and Andre Hairston (Long Island, NY) who also earned himself six rebounds.

The men are back to play this Saturday, November 6th when they travel to Sullivan County CC to compete in the Suny Sullivan Tip-Off Classic. Monroe will take on Raritan Valley CC on 11/6 at 2:00 pm and will play again on 12/7 at 11:00 am when they go head-to-head with Montgomery College.
