Busy Week Ahead for Lady Flyers on Home Beach Courts

The Sandhills Community College beach volleyball team will be looking to rebound from a tough week on the road when it entertains St. Andrews University and Wake Tech in double matches on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

The home matches on both days will begin at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Lady Flyers lost twice to St. Andrews in Laurinburg two weeks ago and split a pair against Wake Tech in Apex 10 days ago.

At the SMC Invitational in Spartanburg, SC on Friday and Saturday, the Lady Flyers went 0-4, losing to Bob Jones University and Spartanburg Methodist on both days. Bob Jones went 2-2 and the hosts won all four of their matches.

An important week for Head Coach Alicia Riggan and her squad continues with the Lady Flyers hosting the Region 10 tournament on Friday. The six teams from the region, that includes Spartanburg Methodist and Wake Tech, will compete for three spots at the inaugural NJCAA Beach Volleyball Championship held at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares, FL on April 20-22.
