Phoenix College Men's Soccer Falls in DII Semifinals to Prairie St. in PKs

Tucson, AZ - The No. 1 Phoenix College men's soccer team fell to No. 11 Prairie State College (IL) in a penalty kick shootout in the NJCAA Div. II National Championship semifinals.

The Bears (15-1-3) scored their game-tying goal in the 86th minute to bring the game to overtime. After a scoreless OT, the Pioneers edged out the Bears, 4-2, in PKs.

PSC (19-5) went on to win the national championship over Morton College (IL), 1-0, on Saturday night.

Both the Mesa Thunderbirds and the defending national champions and host school Pima Aztecs were unable to advance out of pool play.
