Strong Defense Leads Pirates Basketball To 20 Point Victory Over Iowa Western CC

In a thrilling college basketball matchup, North Central Missouri College faced off against Iowa Western Community College. NCMC came away with a 78-58 victory to move to 2-0 for the season.  Next up for Pirates basketball will be another home game.  Saturday the team will take on Johnson County CC at 4pm.

 

NCMC started the game with their starters ready to make an impact. Point guard Joe Clark led the team with 9 points, connecting on 4 of 8 field goals and hitting a three-pointer. He also contributed 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Giovanni Mack, the shooting guard, was another standout player, scoring 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 2 three-pointers. Mack's defensive skills were on full display, as he racked up an impressive 4 steals.

 

Isaiah Reams had a strong all-around game, contributing 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting. He was a force on the boards, grabbing 8 rebounds, with 7 coming on the defensive end. Dampier Evans, the power forward, chipped in with 8 points and showed his prowess in rebounding, securing 9 rebounds, including 4 on the offensive glass.

 

Tyler King had a standout performance, leading all scorers with 24 points. King showcased his three-point shooting skills by hitting 3 three-pointers. He also grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 1 assist, and blocked 1 shot, contributing significantly to his team's victory.

 

Off the bench, Mikey Thomas added 4 points, and Jakorie Terrill contributed 8 points, helping to maintain the team's momentum.

 

The team's shooting percentage of 47.8%, combined with their excellent defense and rebounding, proved to be the winning formula in this exciting college basketball showdown.
