Branchburg, NJ - The RVCC Men's Basketball team hosted the #4 seeded Lackawanna Falcons in the semi-finals of the Region XIX Division 2 Men's Basketball Championship on Tuesday February 24, 2022.  The Lions got off to a roaring hot start led by a pair of dunks from Ahmad Robinson and a put-back dunk from Raheem Carter.  After back to back threes from Eddie Davis and Dan Dextraze the Lions were up 16-3.  The Falcons were able to slowly cut into the Lions lead as the half progressed.  By the time the first half concluded Lackawanna was able to cut the RVCC lead down to 2 trailing just 41-39 at the break. 

The Lions started the second half in a similar fashion to the first and jumped out on a 14-2 run.  Eddie Davis got hot quickly and drained four straight threes to start the second half.  The Lions built their lead back up to double digits and never looked back.  The Falcons of Lackawanna continued to try and chip away but they were never able to get it back down to a single digit game.  The Lions used one last 14-1 run to push the lead up to 23 79-56.  RVCC was led by a balanced attack seeing all 5 starters in double figures.  Raheem Carter finished with 23 and 12 rebounds, Eddie Davis had 19 points and 10 assists, Ahmad Robinson matched Davis posting a double double as well with 19 points and 10 assists, Dan Dextraze and Malachi Gayton had 13 and 10 respectively.  The Lions will now host Delaware Tech on Saturday February 26 for the Region XIX Championship, the game will tip-off at 2PM.
