November 17, 2021 - - The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team fell to Wayne County Community College Wednesday evening by a final score of 93-72. With the loss, the Commodores are now 1-1 on the season.
The Commodores last lead in the contest was 29-28 in the final minutes of the first half. The Wildcats put together a 15-3 run in the closing minutes to lead at halftime 43-32.
Leading the Commodores in scoring was Rod Harris (Akron, Ohio/Garfield HS) with 28 points. Also scoring in double figures for the Commodores was Javon Todd (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) with 14. Sammar Cannon III (Cleveland, Ohio/East Tech HS) chipped in nine points while Lem Payne (Philadelphia, Pa./Mt. Pleasant HS) and De'Miko Nelson (Cincinnati, Ohio/DePaul Cristo Rey) both had six points apiece.
LCCC's next game is at home against CCAC Allegheny at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 20 in the Ewing Center Gymnasium. Admission is $5. LCCC students with ID and children under 10 get in free.
