COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (March 27, 2021) -- Snow College picked up a come-from-behind, road victory at Iowa Western in its season-opener on Saturday. The Badgers overcame a 30-18 point deficit in the fourth quarter to snag the 31-30 victory from the Reviers.
The Badgers pulled to within six points with 10:39 remaining in the final quarter when
Garrison Beach connected with
Taylor Larsen on a 20-yard touchdown reception to cap an eight play, 75-yard drive. The point-after attempt was blocked, allowing IWCC to cling to a 30-24 lead. Then with 14 seconds remaining in the game, Beach found Tejhaun Palmer in the front corner of the end zone on a 19-yard pass play. The touchdown tied things up at 30-30, but
Stockton Lund's extra-point attempt split the uprights to give the Badgers a 31-30 lead. Iowa Western was able to march down the field in the final seconds, but a missed 55-yard field goal attempt sealed the victory for Snow College.
Beach finished the game with 296 yards on 20-of-44 passing attempts, which included three touchdowns.
Snow College will return to Ephraim next Friday, April 2 to take on Southern Shreveport. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
