Unbeaten men's tennis clinches ACCAC regular season title with win over Pima
Mesa, AZ – The undefeated and 17th-ranked Mesa men's tennis team clinched the ACCAC regular season title with a 6-3 victory over Pima Thursday at the windy MCC Courts.
The 5-0 T-Birds won four of six singles matches and took two of three doubles to gain the victory.
Emilio Alvarado picked up a kay singles win at No. 3, avenging an earlier loss to Mitchell Wilkinson with an exciting, three-set, come-from-behind win, 1-6, 6-1, 7-6(3).
Mesa's two top singles players also remained unbeaten. Beto Carlon scored a 6-1, 6-2 win over Corey Pabst to go to 5-0 for the year. Leandro Prado, playing at No. 2, kept his record unblemished at 5-0 with triumph over Anton Nazaroff. 6-4, 6-1.
The T-Birds will conclude the regular season on Tuesday, April 6, visiting Glendale.
