Beach Volleyball Goes 3-0 at Gaston Rhinos Invitational

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team moves to 13-2 overall, 12-0 in conference play after traveling to Gaston College for the Rhinos Invitational Friday and Saturday.

 

In match one, the Statesmen pairs defeated NCAA Division III Catawba College, 3-2.

Pairing 1: Sarah Heath and Karagyn Durco lost to Catawba, 15-21 and 8-21.

Pairing 2: Rylie Harris and Leilani Goggin lost to Catawba, 21-11, 20-22, and 10-15.

Pairing 3: Sophia Kaiser and Jadyn Brown defeated Catawba 22-20 and 21-7.

Pairing 4: Jordan May and Morgan Green defeated Catawba 16-21, 21-19, and 15-6.

Pairing 5: Georgia Alexander and Sydney Phillips defeated Catawba 21-9 and 21-17.

 

In match two, the Statesmen pairs defeated the Sandhills Flyers 5-0.

Pairing 1: Sarah Heath and Karagyn Durco defeated the Flyers 21-13 and 21-6.

Pairing 2: Rylie Harris and Leilani Goggin defeated the Flyers, 21-6 and 21-16.

Pairing 3: Sophia Kaiser and Jadyn Brown defeated the Flyers 21-9 and 21-12.

Pairing 4: Jordan May and Morgan Green defeated the Flyers 21-15 and 21-16.

Pairing 5: Marisa Dunnavent and Sydney Phillips defeated the Flyers 21-19 and 21-15.

 

In match three, the Statesmen pairs defeated the Rhinos 5-0.

Pairing 1: Sarah Heath and Karagyn Durco defeated the Rhinos 21-14 and 21-15.

Pairing 2: Rylie Harris and Leilani Goggin defeated the Rhinos 21-15 and 21-14.

Pairing 3: Sophia Kaiser and Jadyn Brown defeated the Rhinos 21-11 and 21-9.

Pairing 4: Jordan May and Morgan Green defeated the Rhinos 21-9, 17-21, and 15-12.

Pairing 5: Georgia Alexander and Sydney Phillips defeated the Rhinos 21-16 and 21-14.

 

The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next travels to the University of Lynchburg on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd for the Lynchburg Tournament. The Statesmen will face Lynchburg and Stevenson University on Saturday and Sunday at 12pm and 4pm, both days.
