Emmanuel Chirchir made his collegiate debut Saturday morning for the Barton Community College men's cross country team in competing at the Carol Swenson Invitational.

The freshman shook off an inadvertent spiking midway thru the 8k race in going on to a 20th placing out of 105 runners with a 26:23.42 time.

Chirchir will join Karina Estrada and Beverlyn Kiptarus of the women's team October 27th competing at the KJCCC/Region VI Championships held at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Iola, Kansas.
