Logan Women Fall at Three Rivers, 73-72

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Despite out rebounding Three Rivers 55-40, the John A. Logan women's basketball team lost at Three Rivers, 73-72, on Tuesday night.

The Lady Vols fell behind early, 13-4, but bounced back to trail only 22-18 after one quarter. It took a desperation three pointer at the halftime buzzer to put the Raiders up 33-32.

The game was tied 51-51 going into the fourth quarter as Three Rivers made 5-13 triples in the second half, while Logan made only two. Hailee Erickson made two free throws with 5.2-seconds remaining to put the Raiders up 73-72. Destiny Cozart got a shot up before the final buzzer but it rolled off the rim.

Four Logan players scored in double figures with Johnecia Kyles, Kailie Bacon and Cozart all scoring 13 points. Cozart and Miriah Donnelson each had 9 rebounds. Erickson and DeNayia Holmes had 15 points each for the Lady Raiders.

The Lady Vols will host Southeastern Illinois at 1 p.m. Saturday and will have a home rematch with Three Rivers next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
