Commodores Season Ends Against No. 15 Rock Valley College in the NJCAA DIII Great Lakes District Championship, 61-54

February 26, 2022 - - A valiant effort by the Commodores fell short in the NJCAA DIII Great Lakes District Championship as Lorain County Community College men's basketball team lost to No. 15 Rock Valley College, 61-54.

LCCC only trailed by a basket heading into the half, and led by as many as seven before the break.

Backed by the hot shooting of Javon Todd (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) and Bennett Sulen (Avon, Ohio/St. Edward HS), the Commodores stayed basket-for-basket with Rock Valley until the three's stopped falling for the Commodores in the final few minutes.

Sulen finished with 14 points and nine rebounds while Todd had a team-high 22 points (15 points from long range) and six rebounds.  Quante May (Lorain, Ohio/Horizon Science Academy) chipped in six points and seven rebounds while Lem Payne (Philadelphia, Pa./Mount Pleasant HS) added seven points and had three steals.  Payne finishes the season in the lead for steals in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference with 61.

The Commodores end the 2021-22 season with a 11-12 record, an eight win improvement from the 2019-20 season.
