FORT DODGE - The NIACC softball team dropped an ICCAC doubleheader to Iowa Central Sunday afternoon at Harlan Rogers Park.
Iowa Central won the first game 9-1 in six innings and took the second game 12-4 also in six innings.
In the first game, NIACC took a 1-0 lead after the first inning with a home run from Sydney Toman. Iowa Central, however, scored nine straight runs over the next five innings.
Iowa Central's Mackenzie Crampton held the Trojans to two hits in the opener. Ravyn Krachey collected the other hit for the Trojans.
In the second game, Iowa Central scored two runs in the first inning, added two more runs in the third inning, plated three runs in the fifth inning and pushed across five runs in the sixth inning.
NIACC scored three runs in the third inning with a three-run home run from Toman, who leads the Trojans with four home runs. Hailey Worman hit a solo home run in the fifth inning - her third of the season.
Worman, who his 12 home runs in 2021, now has 15 career home runs, which ranks fifth on the school's career home run list.
NIACC (2-14 overall, 0-6 in the ICCAC) returns to action Monday in a doubleheader at Iowa Central. The twinbill starts at 2 p.m.
