Putting up a season-high 101 shots in a game that featured a blistering pace, the Greyhounds (17-5) raced past Central Baptist JV to take a 117-86 victory Thursday at The Dog House.
The Greyhounds had four players score at least 18 points each as they led 54-37 at the half, then exploded for another 63 points to close out the game. Trevor Banks led ASU Mid-South with a double-double, scoring 22 points to go with 12 rebounds, while Montee Randle and Jerrick Cole scored 20 points each. Terrandus Smith finished with 18 points and eight rebounds while Kamron Rose pulled down 10 boards and Shaheed Halk led the way with a game-high 11 assists to go with nine rebounds.
The 31-point victory overshadowed an outstanding individual effort from the Mustangs' Damorius Hudson who scored 42 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the visitors.
The Greyhounds now embark on a three-game road swing that begins Monday at Bethel University before a Region 2 matchup at North Arkansas College on Saturday, February 10. ASU Mid-South then plays at Williams Baptist College the following Monday before returning to The Dog House on Thursday, February 15, in a women's and men's double-header against National Park College.
