GAME ONE: HVCC 4 - SUNY ADIRONDACK 7
Even though the Vikings collected seven hits to SUNY Adirondack's five, they still fell 7-4 on Saturday at SUNY Adirondack. Brendan Connolly and Nico DeSanto each collected two hits for the Vikings.
An error extended the SUNY Adirondack lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Tyler Murray pitched three and one-third innings in relief for the Vikings. The hurler gave up three hits and one run while, striking out three and walking one. Stolov took the loss for the Vikings. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering four runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking three.
DeSanto, Logan Norman, and Christian Aguilar each drove in one run for the Vikings.
GAME TWO: HVCC 16 - SUNY ADIRONDACK 2
The Vikings scored nine runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat SUNY Adirondack 16-2 in game 2. Matthew Carrera singled, scoring two runs, Logan Norman grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, Aidan Heffner drew a walk, scoring one run, Niko Sorice hit a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Brendan Shea singled, scoring two runs.
The Vikings got on the board in the top of the first inning after Nico DeSanto singled, scoring two runs, Tyree Jackson singled, scoring one run, Heffner drew a walk, scoring one run, and Carson Jenkins-Antle hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. A single by Jenkins-Antle extended the Vikings lead to 6-0 in the top of the third inning.
Tyler Spenard earned the win for the Vikings. The righty allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking three.
The Vikings accumulated 10 hits in the game. Carrera and Heffner each collected two hits for the Vikings. Jenkins-Antle, Shea, DeSanto, Jackson, and Carrera each drove in two runs for the Vikings. The Vikings had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 11 walks for the game. Sorice and Heffner led the team with two free passes each. Jackson stole two bases. the Vikings stole eight bases in the game. The Vikings were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Sorice had the most chances in the field with eight.
The Vikings face SUNY Adirondack at home on Thursday, April 24th at 2pm and 4pm.
