Golden Rams Hit 100 for Second Straight Game

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team put up 107 points just a day after tallying 100 in a 107-90 win over Gogebic Community College on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Rams shot 58.6 percent from the field and made 10 of 23 from the three-point line.

The first half went back and forth with neither team able to gain more than a two possession lead.

Leading 47-46, Anoka-Ramsey used a late 10-3 run to take a 57-49 lead into halftime.

Much like in pervious games, the first five minutes of the second half saw the Golden Rams pull away.

A three-point play by Edvonte Copeland, followed by a three-pointer from Chris Morgan, a layup from Kevin Schramm, and a three from Copeland and suddenly the lead was 68-49.

Gogebic closed the gap to 15 points, 88-73 with 8:53 left, but a Harley Shear bucket and another three from Copeland pushed the lead back to 20 points and Gogebic didn't threaten again.

Gogebic shot just 38.8 percent from the field and committed 14 turnovers.

Anoka-Ramsey won the rebound battle 41-35.

Copeland finished with 21 points making 5 of 10 threes.

Schramm scored 19 points on 9 of 14 from the field.

Shear scored 15 points making all six of his field goal attempts.

Mamadou Ngom tallied 13 points and six rebounds.

Ramose Riddley led the rebounding with eight including six on the offensive glass.

Jefferson Belmont chipped in six assists in 13 minutes of play.

The Golden Rams improve to 3-0 on the season and will play at home Thursday, November 17 vs. Milwaukee Tech at 8:00pm.
