GMC Bulldog Football remain undefeated at Home

The current NJCAA #10 GMC JC Football team (9-1) defeated ASA College Miami on this past Saturday, 28-7 to run their win streak to 9 games. The Bulldogs continue to get solid play from both sides of the ball as they sprint to the end of their season.  The Bulldogs have one game left against NJCAA #8 Lackawanna College Eagles (9-0) and it will be played at a neutral site at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.

The Bulldogs by beating ASA College remained undefeated at home during the 2016 campaign.  The game again was a combination of solid play from both sides of the ball for GMC.  The defense held ASA Miami to a total of 179 yards for the game with -14 yards on the ground and 193 in the air.  The defense for the Bulldogs has been a wall all year long and have made it very difficult for their opponents to get anything going.  Maurice Williams (SO) came up huge for the Bulldogs with 12 tackles, 2 of which were for a loss of 9 total yards.  Williams got help from fellow teammates, Rock Romero (SO) with 7 tackles, 2 of which were for a loss of 8 yards,  DeAndre Applin (SO) and Jalen Wade (SO) who both had 5 tackles apiece towards the GMC effort.   The Bulldog offense gave another solid effort at Cameron Rosendahl (SO) had another consistent performance by going 15-24 for 175 yards and 3 TD's. Rosendahl hit his favorite target, Isaac Zico for 7 receptions for 83 yards and 2 TD's. Running back Kawon Byrant (SO) put up another impressive day totaling 95 yards on 19 carries and with a TD.  The game was a hard fought game but the Bulldogs managed to wear down the visiting ASA College of Miami to pick up the win.

The Bulldogs will be facing Lackawanna College, who are coming off a 31-21 win against DuPage College, a team that GMC beat earlier in the year, 24-12.  The battle this weekend will feature two Top 10 teams in the Nation that are very similar statistically with the Bulldogs only giving up 186.7 yards per game and 11.3 points a game, while the Eagles only give up 220 yards a game and 15 points per contest.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm and the game will be live broadcast at www.jockjivesports.net  Tune in at 12:40pm to catch the Bert Williams Show just prior to kickoff.
