Wolves fall to Itawamba

WESSON, Mississippi - The Itawamba Community College Indians handed the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves their first loss of the season taking a 6-3 win. 

"Despite the loss, the boys had a chance to win in key matches at No. 3 and No. 6 singles which went to a third set tiebreaker," said Co-Lin head coach Dana Hale. "I am very proud of the level of play of Julian Toloza and Julian Parada at the No. 1 and No.2 positions."

The Wolves picked up a win at No. 1 doubles as Julian Toloza/Julian Parada defeated Itawamba's Sergio Garcia/Rhonzo Olaechea 8-2. ICC's Grayson Godbold/Jacambian Madlock blanked Ty Nelson/Lawson Pearson 8-0 at No. 2 and Russell Moorman/Torean King defeated Co-Lin'sJohn Ready/Skyler Rasberry 8-6 at No. 3.

In singles action, the Wolves' No. 1 Julian Toloza defeated Sergio Garcia 6-3, 7-5. The only other Co-Lin win came at No. 2 as Julian Parada blanked Rhonzo Olaechea 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, ICC's Grayson Godbold defeated Ty Nelson in three set 6-6 (5), 6-4, 1-0. ICC's Jacambian Madlock beat Lawson Pearson 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4. At No. 5, Russell Moorman defeated Co-Lin's John Ready 6-2, 6-0. In another three set match, ICC's Torean King outlasted Co-Lin's Skyler Rasberry 2-6, 6-2, 0-1. 

The Wolves travel to Meridian on Friday with matches starting at 2 p.m.
