NIACC's Weiner shoots career-best 83
MASON CITY - NIACC's Emma Weiner shot a career-best 83 on Tuesday at the NIACC Fall Invitational at the Highland Park Golf Course.
Weiner's previous career best was 89 at the Simpson College Fall Invitational on Sept. 20.
"Emma Weiner had another great performance (Tuesday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "She backed up a quality start last week in Indianola with a career-low 83 (Tuesday).
"She's getting off the tee so much better than she was earlier in the season and her putting is really good at the moment. She is coming in relaxed and I love her focus at the moment."
Also for the NIACC women, who shot a 373, on Tuesday, freshman Cameran Moellers shot 92, Paige Danger shot 93 and Karissa Hoon shot 105.
"The rest of the team is just off a little bit," Frenz said, "but their work ethic is outstanding and we'll work on things over the next couple of days to get ready for Friday."
NIACC returns to action Friday at the Waldorf University Fall Invitational at the Rice Lake Golf Course in Lake Mills.
