Rough Start For Baseball In Series With Metropolitan

Pirates Baseball went on the road Thursday and took two losses to Metropolitan Community College.  The Pirates dropped the opener 6-3 despite holding early leads.  In game two, the Wolves jumped out to the early advantage with the Pirates comeback attempt coming up short.  NCMC will host MCC on Saturday to conclude their Region 16 series.

Highlighting the offensive output for the Pirates was Kendrick Delima who went 4-8 with one run and one RBI.  Braedyn Brewer added two hits, one that was a triple, and scored two runs.  On the mound, the relief corps of Pharon Pilgrim, Chase Killday, and DeeJay Seelbach tossed six innings allowing only two earned runs while striking out seven.  Starters Brandin Hallier and Peyton Seiz, each taking a loss, did not fare as well giving up thirteen earned runs over eight innings pitched.  Pirates' defense was spotty as well committing five errors in the doubleheader.

NCMC's overall record sits at 10-26 with a 2-18 mark in Region 16 play.
