IRSC Softball split a double-header in softball with St. Johns River in Ft. Pierce on Tuesday winning the first game 4-0 but dropped game two 6-2.

In the game one victory freshman pitcher Elizabeth Gollin (6-0) tossed a complete game no hitter, striking out 12 St. Johns batters.

Jaden Kline, Crystal Grimaldo, Savannah Julylia, and Taylor Strickland each collected one hit to lead IRSC's offense.

In the game two loss IRSC watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 6-2 loss to.  St Johns River took the lead on a double in the first inning. The Pioneers dropped game two despite out-hitting St Johns River seven to six.

Freshman Dawn Bodrug (3-2) started the game for IRSC. She went two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out three. Sophomore Valerie Alvarado threw four and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Michalyn Bingham led the Pioneer offense with two hits in three at bats

The 11-2 Pioneers take to the road this weekend playing five games at the Visit Dothan Alabama Softball Tournament.  IRSC opens the tournament on Thursday against Lake Land College of Illinois, Northwest Florida and Chipola.   On Saturday the Pioneers play Salt Lake City and Walters State.
