Cedar Rapids, IA – It was an extremely hard fought five set match in the opening round of the NJCAA National Tournament for the Lake-Sumter State College volleyball team who came up on the short end against Terra State.

The Lakehawks started on fire, jumping out to a 25-20 victory in the first set, before falling in set two, 25-20. A dominant third set that had LSSC up by 10 at one point, ended with a Lakehawk victory, 25-16. Set four was a back and forth battle that was tied up at 23-all before the Titans grabbed two consecutive points for the win. The fifth set started out close and then Terra State created separation and didn't look back on their way to a 15-6 victory.

The loss puts the No. 11 Lakehawks against No. 14 Richard Bland College (19-9) who lost to No. 3 Parkland College early on Thursday. The match is set to begin at 11 am EST.
