The 11th Barton Community College women's tennis team got off to a great start on the first day of the NJCAA Division I National Tennis Championships, winning seven of its eight matches Saturday at the Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Sweeping all three doubles matches, the Cougars won five of their six singles matches in receiving one first round bye.

Competition resumes Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Central Time.
