Men’s RedTail Golf Kicks Off Season at Fall Statesmen Invite

The RedTails had their first meet of the 2023-24 season in Oskaloosa at Edmundson Golf Course.
The two-day invite ended in a success for RedTail Men's Golf. The team shot an overall team score of 576 and placed first of three teams. This score set a new school record for 36 holes. Kaeden Anderson and Bruno Marti Jimenez both tied for first shooting 138 and Anderson took the win from the playoff. Tristin Sorgenfrey tied for eighth, shooting a score of 152. Will Steege tied for 13th, with a score of 156 and Oskar Kahr shot a total of 163.
The individuals competing had a successful two days as well with Emil Christensen shooting a 150, Mauricio Jimenez with a total of 154, and Bodie Goddard ending with a score of 164.
Head coach Micah Destival had some positive words to say after the two-day invite.
"This was a great way to start off our season by finishing first in the team score as well as having two top individuals," he said. "The guys played great on a very hilly course and we were proud of them for their stellar play."
The RedTails next matchup will come Tuesday, September 5, at the Eagle Ridge General Golf Course, competing in the Clarke Fall Invite in Galena, Ill. They will be teeing off at 10:00am.
