Eastern Wyoming hands Lady Indians second-straight loss

TORRINGTON, Wyo. Eastern Wyoming handed the MCC women their second-straight loss Saturday 81-54 to end the semester.

The Lady Indians shot 36.1 percent from the field, made five of 19 shots from beyond the arc (26.3 percent) and made five of 11 shots from the free-throw line.

MCC had 37 rebounds and turned the ball over 21 times.

The Lancers shot 45.3 percent from the field, made 41.7 percent of the 24 3-pointers and six of eight free throws. Eastern Wyoming had 46 rebounds and 10 turnovers.

Freshman Gail Whiting (Montgomery, Ala.) led MCC with 14 points. Sophomore Makenna Bodette (Colorado Springs) scored 11 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Sophomore Paula Rosello Mateu, (Barcelona, Spain) scored nine points and freshman Carla Torrubia Cano (Melilla Spain) pulled down eight rebounds and had five points.

Eastern Wyoming sweeps the season series with MCC and improve to 7-5.

The Lady Indians head to the winter break at 10-3 or 11-2. The next game will be a Jan. 14 contest with 10th ranked Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff.

MCC's will play back-to-back home games Jan. 17 (5:30 p.m.) against Northeastern Junior College and Jan. 18 (2 p.m.) against Southeast Community College.
