
Softball Shuts Out Daytona State, 3-0
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe Softball opened its Mid-Florida Conference series on the home field with Daytona State College on Thursday, and the Saints came away with conference win No. 1 in a shutout, 3-0.
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
Abrianna Hickox had two RBI on a sacrifice fly and a double, and Lily Garnett-Brown connected for her fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the second inning.
Single runs in the first and second innings helped Santa Fe play with a lead, and starting pitcher Sophie Abrams did the rest from the circle. Abrams was lights out in the complete game shutout, picking up her tenth win of the season.
TEAM COMPARISON
The Falcons were only able to muster three singles against Abrams, while SF had four hits, two of which went for extra-bases.
