Commodores Soundly Defeat Westmoreland Wolfpack, 107-65

November 6, 2022 - - The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team picked up their second win thanks to a collective effort that saw every Commodore on the roster score against the Wolfpack from Westmoreland County Community College, 107-65.

Aiding the Commodores' (2-0) effort was double figure scoring from five players.  Traevon Fann (Garfield Heights, Ohio/James Madison HS) scored a team-high 18 points with five rebounds on 9-of-16 shooting.  Fann also had two steals and two assists.  Brandon Fisher (Strongsville, Ohio/Columbia HS) scored 16, hitting four shots from long distance.  Jason Becka (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick HS) score 13 points going 3-for-5 from long range, grabbing five rebounds, with two assists and two steals.

LCCC came out on fire against the overmatched Wolfpack (0-3), building a 21-point lead capped off by Quante May's (Cleveland, Ohio/Horizon Science Academy) dunk in the first eight minutes before Westmoreland called a timeout. May would finish with 11 points, four rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist.

Defense was catalyst for the Commodores again Sunday afternoon as they held Westmoreland scoreless for five minutes in the first half as the Commodores built a 27-point lead, holding the Wolfpack to 36% shooting in the first 20 minutes of play.  As a team, the Commodore combined for 14 steals.

Anthony Mcghaw (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville HS) also got into double figure scoring with 10 points with three assists.  The Commodores built their largest lead of the afternoon to 42 points culminating with two Abdulaziz Sesay's (Freetown, Sierra Leon/Limount College) free throws in the final seconds.

LCCC returns to the court this Saturday with a match up against Malone University's JV squad at the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium. Tip off is at 3 p.m.
