Beach volleyball splits two on first day in California

Santa Barbara, Calif – On the first day of their three-day California weekend, the Mesa beach volleyball team split two matches.

After falling to a veteran Santa Barbara City College team which was 14-2 last year, 5-0, Mesa took down Cal Lutheran, also 5-0.

That makes MCC 3-2 for the season.

The scene shifts to El Cajon, Calif., Friday where the T-Birds will face homestanding Grossmont at 10 a.m. and Miracosta at noon.
