The CVC Baseball Team split in their doubleheader on Monday evening against the LeTourneau Yellowjackets (J.V.) in Longview.
The Suns defeated the YellowJackets by a score of 5-2 in the first game of the doubleheader. After jumping out to a 3-1 lead in the first inning, CVC remained in control from there on out. Dakota More had two runs, while Billy Rogers went 2-4 from the plate. Four Suns had RBIs (Rogers, Blake Birdwell, Nolyn Box, and Daniel Quintanilla).
Skyler White picked up his first win of the season on the mound, throwing nine strikeouts in six innings played.
CVC would fall in game two to LeTourneau, 3-1. Rogers scored the lone run for the Suns, with Jamison Totten picking up the RBI.
Cedar Valley returns to action on Saturday, when they face the defending NJCAA Division III National Champion, Tyler Apaches.
