ARNOLD, MD – Oxford Emory midfielder Willa Demasi netted a hat trick as the third seeded Eagles defeated second seed Anne Arundel in the NJCAA Region XX semifinals Friday. AACC concludes the season with a 7-7 record after advancing to the Region XX semifinals for the third year in a row.
Demasi put Oxford on the board in the 19th minute and sent the Eagles into halftime with a 2-0 lead after her second strike in the 41st minute. She capped the scoring in the 85th minute.
Aileen Rivera Cubero had AACC's best chance of the day early in the game, but was thwarted by Oxford goalkeeper Brianna Chun.
Anne Arundel goalkeeper Sarah Ward made seven stops on the day.
Oxford will face top seed Howard Community College in the championship game Saturday at 11 am.
