Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's tennis team lost 9-0 to the College of Lake County on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 0-2 overall and in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) competition as CLC moves to 1-0.

Leticia Luna and Vanesa Cardenas fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Melanie Ulrich and Alisa Donga lost 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot as Giselle Brito and Maria Robles dropped 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.

Luna and Robles lost 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, respectively with Cardenas finishing 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2 spot. Ulrich came the closest to winning a set as she fell 6-1, 6-4 at number three. Donga fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 and Brito wrapped up the team in the number five spot at 6-0, 6-1.

The Spartans travel to McHenry to face the Scots on Sept. 20 at 2:45 p.m.
