Hackman 1 Shot Away From Top Spot in Chargers’ Dual Against Vikings

GALESBURG — Ava Hackman finished one shot away from tying for medalist honors in the Carl Sandburg College women's golf team's dual match against Augustana JV on Thursday at Bunker Links.

Hackman shot a 10-over-par 81 to take solo second and finish one behind Chargers alumna Olivia Schwingle, who carded a career-low 80. Hackman's round included eight pars, and she made no worse than bogey on any hole.

Sandburg's Ellie Wasson shot an 83 for fourth place, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 16th, and Addy Trego tied for sixth with an 86. Lauren Minkel provided Sandburg's fourth score, placing 10th with a 92.

The Vikings won the match by nine strokes, 333-342.
