Jayhawks Swim Past the Kats to an 89-54 Victory

BUFFALO - Taking their talents on the road, the Jamestown Community College men's swimming & diving team came away with an 89-54 over Region 3 foe Erie Community College.

 

The Jayhawks (2-0) start with a win with Jackson Vanstrom (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern HS) in the 1000 yard freestyle. Jackson made vast improvements from a week ago, shaving 13 seconds off his time with a time of 12:51.79. Vanstrom also won the 100 yard butterfly event with a time of 1:16.00.

 

Colby Pantall (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove) finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:12.77. Pantall improved his 500 yard freestyle time from a week ago, posting a time of 6:11.58 on the way to a first-place finish.

 

Elliot Johnson (Panama, NY/Panama Central) posted a first-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 24.85. Johnson also finished first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 56.94.

 

Eathan Johnson (Panama, NY/Panama Central) finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke, beating our fellow teammate Matthew Fennell (Fourways Garden, Johannesburg, South Africa/King Edwards VII School) with a time of 1:15.08. Fennell finished with a time of 1:17.87.

 

JCC wrapped up the night with a first-place finish in the 400 yard freestyle with the team of Pantall, Fennell, Elliot Johnson, and Eathan Johnson.

 

The Jayhawks will back back in the pool as they will swim against Genesee Community College next Monday, March 22nd, at 5 p.m.
